Diverge app privacy policy
How the Diverge app looks after your information, in plain words.
Effective from: 12 October 2026 · Last updated: 26 September 2026
At a glance
- Your stuff stays yours. Tasks, brain dumps and notes are saved on your phone. If you choose to sign in, we keep an encrypted backup so you can use more than one device.
- AI helps, then forgets. When you use an AI or voice feature, what you said is sent securely to our AI and voice partners to create a reply. They do not use it to train their AI.
- No ads, no tracking, no selling. We never sell your information or use it for advertising.
- You don’t need an account. The app works fully without signing in.
- You’re in control. Delete anything at any time. Signed-in users can download or delete everything from Settings.
- Adults only. The app is for people aged 18 and over.
1. Who we are
The Diverge app is run by ONEROCK GROUP LTD, trading as Diverge (“we”, “us”). We are the data controller for the information described here. This means we decide how it is used, and we are responsible for keeping it safe.
- Company number: 17014989 (England and Wales)
- Registered office: 71–75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London, WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom
- ICO registration: ZC257607
- Privacy contact: privacy@shopdiverge.com
This policy covers the Diverge app on iPhone and Android. Shopping on shopdiverge.com is covered by our website privacy policy.
2. What we collect
| Type | Examples | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| What you create | Brain dumps, tasks, plans, ideas, Map notes, photos you add, messages you paste into Say it or Decode, chats with Pebble, battery check-ins | Saved on your phone. Sent to our AI partner only when you use an AI feature. Backed up (encrypted) only if you sign in |
| Your voice | What you say in a voice brain dump or to Pebble | Sent to our voice partner to turn into text. We do not keep a recording |
| Settings | Theme, font, text size, sounds, reminders | Saved on your phone. Backed up if you sign in |
| Account (optional) | Email address, name if you give it, sign-in method (Apple, Google or email) | Our server, only if you sign in |
| Usage counts | How many AI helps and voice minutes you have used, app version, device type, an app install ID | Our server, to apply free and Plus limits and keep the app secure. Never the content itself |
| Diverge Plus | Whether you subscribe, your plan and renewal date | Apple or Google handle payment. We never see your card details |
| Shop orders | Name, delivery address, email, phone, what you ordered | Our shop system, to deliver your order. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We never see your full card number |
| Crash and performance data | What went wrong when the app crashed, device model | [crash reporting provider]. Never your content |
Phone permissions, always optional:
- Microphone: only while you are talking to the app.
- Calendar: to add plans you choose and show your events as shapes on Today. Calendar details stay on your phone.
- Photos and camera: only for pictures you choose to add.
- Notifications: for the gentle nudges and order updates you switch on.
We do not collect your precise location, your contacts or your advertising ID.
3. How the AI and voice features work
- You ask for help. For example, you finish a brain dump, break down a task, use Say it or Decode, or talk to Pebble.
- It travels securely. What you said goes from your phone to our server, then to our AI partner, Anthropic (Claude). If you spoke, your voice first goes to our voice partner, ElevenLabs, to be turned into text.
- You get the reply. The answer comes back to your phone. If Pebble speaks, ElevenLabs creates the voice. Short read-outs use your phone’s own voice and never leave your phone.
- We don’t keep it. Our server does not store or log the content of your requests.
What our partners do with it:
- Anthropic does not use it to train its AI. It deletes it within 30 days. If its automatic safety checks flag a conversation for possible misuse, it may keep that conversation for up to 2 years.
- ElevenLabs does not use it to train its AI. It keeps it only for a limited time, for security and to fix problems.
Good to know:
- AI can get things wrong. Check anything important, such as a deadline Decode spots.
- The AI makes suggestions only. It never makes decisions about you with legal or similarly important effects.
- Comfort tips: after helping you cope, Pebble may mention a product from our shop that could help. This uses only the conversation you are in. We do not build a marketing profile of you, and you can switch tips off in Settings.
4. Why we use it
UK data protection law says we need a lawful reason (a “lawful basis”) for each use.
| What we do | Lawful basis |
|---|---|
| Run the app’s features, including AI and voice, sign-in, sync and Diverge Plus | Contract: to provide the service you asked for |
| Handle health details you choose to share, such as feeling overwhelmed, a diagnosis or a meltdown | Your explicit consent, given when you first open the app. You can withdraw it at any time by stopping use of the AI features and deleting your content, or by emailing us |
| Show comfort tips (product suggestions from Pebble) | Your explicit consent, as above. You can switch tips off in Settings |
| Apply free and Plus limits, prevent misuse and keep the app secure | Legitimate interests: keeping the service safe and fair |
| Fix crashes and improve the app using counts and crash reports (never your content) | Legitimate interests |
| Deliver shop orders and keep financial records | Contract, and a legal obligation for tax records |
| Send marketing emails | Only with your separate opt-in consent. The app itself never sends you marketing messages |
Because brain dumps and chats with Pebble often include how you feel or health conditions, we treat all of this content as sensitive (special category) information and protect it accordingly.
5. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers that make the app work. They act on our instructions and must protect it. We never sell your information or share it with advertisers.
| Provider | What they do | Based in |
|---|---|---|
| Anthropic (Claude) | Creates AI replies | USA |
| ElevenLabs | Turns speech into text and creates Pebble’s voice | USA |
| Hostinger | Hosts our server | Server in the United Kingdom (Manchester) |
| Apple and Google | App stores, Plus payments, optional sign-in, notifications | USA |
| RevenueCat | Keeps track of your Plus subscription | USA |
| Stripe | Card payments for shop orders | USA and Ireland |
| Expo | Delivers app updates and notifications | USA |
| [crash reporting provider] | Crash reports | [country] |
| Royal Mail | Delivers shop orders | UK |
When information goes outside the UK, we use the safeguards UK law requires, such as the UK–US data bridge or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a new owner if Diverge is ever sold. In that case, this policy would still apply to your information.
6. How long we keep it
| Information | How long |
|---|---|
| Content on your phone | Until you delete it or delete the app |
| Encrypted backup (signed-in users) | Until you delete it or your account. Then removed within 30 days |
| Content of AI and voice requests | Not stored by us. Our partners keep it only as described in section 3 |
| Usage counts and security records | 12 months |
| Account details | Until you delete your account |
| Inactive accounts | Deleted after 2 years without use, with an email warning first |
| Shop orders and financial records | 6 years, as UK tax law requires |
| Crash reports | 90 days |
7. Your choices and rights
In the app, at any time:
- Delete any brain dump, task, note or chat.
- Switch off comfort tips, notifications, microphone, calendar or photo access.
- Signed-in users: download everything, or delete your account and backup, from Settings.
- Use the app without signing in at all.
Your legal rights. You can ask us to:
- give you a copy of your information
- correct it
- delete it
- limit how we use it
- send it to you or another service in a usable format
- stop using it where we rely on legitimate interests
- stop using it where we rely on your consent (this does not affect what happened before)
Email privacy@shopdiverge.com. It is free, and we reply within one month. Information kept only on your phone is not visible to us, so you can delete it yourself.
Not happy? Please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
8. Safety, age and security
Pebble is a companion, not a therapist. If you mention thoughts of suicide or self-harm, Pebble will gently share UK support services, such as Samaritans (116 123, free, any time). Nobody at Diverge reads your chats, and we do not contact anyone on your behalf. If you are in danger, call 999.
Adults only. The Diverge app is for people aged 18 and over. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will delete it.
How we protect your information:
- Content on your phone is protected by your phone’s own encryption and screen lock.
- Everything sent between your phone and our server is encrypted (HTTPS).
- Backups for signed-in users are encrypted on our server.
- Only a small number of authorised people can access our systems, and never the content of your AI requests.
- Our AI and voice keys live only on our server, never in the app.
No system is completely secure. If something ever goes wrong that puts your information at risk, we will tell you, and the ICO when the law requires it.
9. Changes and contact
If we make an important change to this policy, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
